Controlling Your Urge to Snack
We’re all familiar with the thoughtless act of binging and snacking. You know what I’m talking about. You’re either bored or slightly hungry so you go snack on something outside of your meal plan, or you eat more than you needed to at a meal. It seems harmless, but unfortunately this tends to start bad habits and derail weight loss goals.
It can be as small as some popcorn during a movie, or as big as filling your plate at dinner after not eating enough while you run errands in Gilmore, AZ. Without a meal plan or structure, you can accidentally consume more calories than you’re burning. Have no fear! Our Chandler weight loss clinic has some appetite curbing tips and tricks for you.
Controlling your blood sugar using cinnamon and vinegar.
An excellent way to add flavor to your meals is adding a splash of vinegar or a dash of cinnamon to the dish. Vinegar can lower your body’s glycemic index, basically helping to control your blood pressure. Adding some acidic flavor through vinegar can really elevate a dish while also giving some amazing health benefits. Cinnamon is amazing because it slows down how quickly food moves through your body, making you feel fuller for longer increments of time. Adding cinnamon can spice up many recipes giving you a healthier yet more appealing meal plan.
Never let yourself go too long without food.
When we are “starving” when we attempt weight loss on our own we tend to go overboard when food is accessible. Either we serve double or triple the normal portions, or we get food that is unhealthy out of convenience. This can be detrimental to your health as well as fitness goals. Don’t worry though, according to the professionals from our Chandler weight loss clinic, there is a very simple answer to this problem. Instead of eating three meals a day like we were raised, you can easily try having smaller meals throughout your day. This gives you the chance to digest your food throughout the day and never go hungry.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate because Arizona weather sucks the water out of you.
We hear all the time how drinking water is so important for our health, and we’re gonna say it again here. Sometimes we can mistake our thirst for hunger as we work toward weight loss. We’ll immediately go to the pantry instead of just drinking some water. But staying hydrated and drinking at least 8 cups of water a day can stunt some of those feelings we mistake as hunger.
Slowing down to enjoy food
Eating your meal quickly can fool your body into thinking you’re still hungry. Your body needs some time to let the food get to your stomach. Unfortunately, we can develop the habit of quickly eating our meal during a lunch break or breakfast before work. This can lead to us fixing bigger portions causing us to overeat when all we need is to slow down and enjoy it. Either taking some time in between bites, or chewing more thoroughly can really make a difference in how we digest our meals. Not only will you need less food, but it will also give you some time to enjoy the amazing meal you have in front of you!
